X4038 [RECEIVED STAMP: 18 DEC 1930] TO EY. from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to GET c. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} c. to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} c. to Mr. Lee-Evans ROY{Sir Henry Royce}7/MG17.12.30 ------ Hobson K-S Telegages We recently had occasion to return to Messrs. H.M.Hobson Ltd a Telegage in which the liquid had turned black, and it was suggested this was due to the use by some person of a zinc wire instead of a match stick, as recommended by the makers, when necessary to adjust the fluid. Further investigation on the part of Messrs. Hobson has now taken place, and attached is copy of their communication to hand this morning on the subject - the gist of which is that their original recommendation emphasizing the use of a match stick on such occasions should be rigidly adhered to. We assume that Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} will advise the various depots etc. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} will note we have passed a copy of this memo to Mr. Lee-Evans.
