COPY. HORNS. August 1, 1930. Dear Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}, In reply to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/D30.7.30 I have had a word with Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} about Horns for L.H. P.II. First: It was generally agreed by all at Derby that the rotary Klaxon was obsolete and should be replaced. Second: In discussing a substitute the Robert Bosch buzzer horn without the two-tone feature was agreed as being acceptable by R.R. Ltd. and R.R.A.I. Its foreign origin makes it undesirable to R.R. Ltd. if a satisfactory British substitute can be obtained. Third: By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is working with Luvax to produce a buzzer horn as good as the R.{Sir Henry Royce} Bosch. Therefore R.R.A.I. stand to accept either the R.{Sir Henry Royce} Bosch or an English substitute. And the final agreement can only be reached after demonstration on 25-EX. It should be made clear however that the rotary horn is not acceptable both because of harsh tone and necessity for lubrication and adjustment. (Sgd.) Oy. | ||
