X4124. To Ey. from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJL. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJL.1/MJ.18.9.29. DUNLOP SUPER D.L. JACK. ----------------------- We send you herewith parts taken from some Dunlop Super D.L. Jacks which have failed in the course of ordinary duty in the Expl. Dept. Garage. It will be seen that the cause of failure is the stripping of the thread in the cast iron 'barrel' portion of the Jack. It is obvious that the thread is considerably overloaded for cast iron. Will you take this matter up with Dunlops with a view to persuading them to improve upon their present article?. We have never been really satisfied with this Jack, but are compelled to use it because we cannot obtain a good Jack elsewhere at a reasonable figure. It would be better to pay slightly more for an improved Dunlop Jack than to continue to supply the present unsatisfactory model. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJL. | ||
