Mechanical and Electrical Pumps.

We have not yet approached the reliability of the Autovac with the S.U. Pump. The Autovac had a long period of development, the S.U. has only been going three years. We were forced to leave the Autovac owing to the introduction of down-draught carburettors. The only existing alternative to the S.U. pump is the American A.C. Mechanical Pump. We still believe the S.U. to be the better principle.

S.S.Cars Ltd. fitted the A.C.pump for a year and then discarded it because of trouble last October for the S.U. and have since had an almost trouble-free year on C.S. diaphragms.

We propose to review the whole petrol system to ensure that we get the same degree of reliability as has been attained on the rest of the chassis.
