To LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} +8410 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG27.7.28. X4332 We were very pleased to receive from you a copy of the letter from Mr. Geo.Monro. It has just come at a time when we were on the point of recommending that the Co. should purchase a Cottin Desgouttes. We hold the view that as riding comfort is by far the most important feature on a car, we should explore all systems of springing which offer any possible hope for improvement. There is very little hope of achieving any marked improvement in the present system of springing. We can of course affect a compromise in which we improve one feature at the expense of another.
