HEADLAMPS.

Considering the two systems which are now proposed, i.e. (a) Dip and Switch with additional dipper in offside lamp. (b) Fixed reflectors with centre lamp.

(a) The extra dipper unit costs 7/6d plus a tool charge not yet determined.
This unit can be either fitted to every car or to only those used abroad. The latter scheme would involve a lot of changing about of lamps after chassis are allocated and will cost money.
We also supply each car with a fog lamp at approximately £1, therefore this scheme is likely to cost :-

£ s d
N/S Lamp. 4- 3- 7½ } £8-14-9.
O/S Lamp. 4-11- 1½ }
Fog Lamp. 1- 0- 0
---------
9-14- 9.

(b) This combination of 3 lamps can be had for £9, and each lamp has double filament bulbs.

Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} considers the (b) scheme satisfactory and we hoped to test this out, this week.

The R.100, Mark 4, now on production, incorporates :- stronger dipper unit and spring, new glass rim rubbers and retaining rings. The amount of spread is the maximum available with the existing tools, but new tools for the reflector are being considered.
