We send herewith N.sch.2659 showing what we would propose for the scuttle isolation for G.2.B. series.

In order to make room for a reasonable size of rubber washer we have lowered the top of the dash recess slightly. We prefer not to allow the bolt to spigot in the bonnet angle, and have adopted the experimental scheme of LF.1082 where the bolt is entirely surrounded by rubber, and the bonnet angle is cut away.

We do not like the spherical headed bolt, as these move and squeak. We would like a cheese head, and so allow the rubber to do all the flexing.

In order to give better clearance we have moved the water lip to the extreme rear of the recess.

The shape of the dash is that we suggest to meet Barker's requirements, shewn on print 1335. The amount the scuttle panel can be allowed to project towards the back of the dash will have to be found by experience.

We anticipate you will be able to make the changes to the cast dash here suggested, as apparently the shape of contour has not been settled yet.
