(4) Constant boost curves at Rated Boost pressure plus 1½ lbs/sq.in. from 3000 to 2200 R.P.M. and 2000 to 3000 R.P.M. respectively. See Curve 376F. appended.

The Gated Throttle Power at international speed and the "Take Off" speed were calculated from the above curves as being (a) 616 BHP. at 2600 R.P.M. and (b) 2180 R.P.M. respectively.

(5) Four power consumption curves were taken at 100%, 85%, 70%, and 55% of a power determined by the intersection of the Rated Boost Curve and a theoretical throttling power curve starting at maximum permissible speed and full throttle power at sea level (i.e. 520 BHP.).
Each of the power consumption curves commenced at the speed corresponding to the 'intersection' power viz. 2350 RPM. and continued to 2100 RPM. See curves 377F. and 378F. appended.

SUMMARY.

The above tests concluded the rating tests taken with Anglo 80 Octane Fuel. Another fuel with an even higher Octane value is being considered, which will necessitate a re-rating test. When the fuel and rating of the engine have been definitely established under these conditions, further development testing will be carried out to ascertain performance figures.
