Dear Sir:-

Re: Remington Carburetter Pump

In reply to Mr. Royce's recent inquiries as to the suitability of vacuum feed for the "Goshawk" car, we have stated that we do not think the vacuum feed is likely to be entirely satisfactory under all conditions of running for a car such as ours, which has a comparatively low induction vacuum and comparatively high gear ratio, and which is expected to travel under all conditions of roads and altitudes without giving trouble.

We attach herewith a folder received from the Remington Sales Corp. of Philadelphia, describing the Remington Carburetter Pump, which appears to us to be a very simple device readily adapted to our car, using the present pressure pump as the impeller, and which offers possibilities of reducing the cost of the gasoline tank by making simpler construction possible and reduce the cost of assembly and test by cutting out the time at present taken on a proportion of cars in rectifying small air leaks.

We would be glad to know whether Mr. Royce desires to try out this device, since we have no doubt that we can obtain a sample from the makers without difficulty.

We are told by the President of the Corporation that the weight of the system is less than 2 lbs., that it costs far less than the pressure system, and that it has been in successful operation for several months on Packard and Cadillac cars.
