Mr. Elliott's investigation is excellent and should be carried on as long as it shews progress towards solving the mysterious difference between diffarent springs. Apparently we have a few items towards perfection in -

(1) Taper spring (our old practice.)
(2) Open ended springs.
(3) Low max. with larger stress range.

) for space and
) very practical.
