| To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} x36 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}22/KW.5.3.36. Aerolite Pistons. We understand that on the large bore Bentley the Light Production people have increased the price of the Aerolite pistons by an amount which is equal to approximately £1 per car. There does not seem to be much justification for this, as the weight of the pistons is almost identical and the machining costs must be identical. We suggest that you point this out to Mr. Brooks, and I am sure that he will give the matter of a reduction in price serious consideration. It will be remembered that on the 3½ the costs of the R.R. and the Aerolite piston were identical. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
