6003 15th April 1937 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.5/AP. Messrs S.Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood works, LONDON N.W.2. Dear Sirs, Will you please supply a Bentley water temperature thermometer to DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1360 (flexible capillary) and despatch same to I.M.Waller, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France, with the minimum delay. Our official order for this thermometer will follow immediately. We have had a breakage with one of these flexible capillary thermometers on a Bentley - the capillary has broken at the point where it is soldered into the bulb. We should like to know whether you attribute such a breakage to the use of the flexible capillary as against the standard type, and would also like to know whether you can suggest any form of support for strengthening this point - if so we would like it incorporated on the thermometer ordered above. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
