Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Robotham,

With reference to our conversation yesterday, when I had the pleasure of seeing you at Derby, I confirm that I understood that you would be letting me know in the course of a few days as to whether we might substitute the latest design tyre which will be known as "India Super Tyre", as original equipment for the Bentley in place of the old design "India Speed Special". As I explained to you, the only difference between the tyres would be in name and in the fact that the latest design has had the tread broadened.

In the event of your being so kind as to allow us to supply these new design tyres in place of the old ones, the question will, of course, arise as to how the change-over could best take place. I presume the best way to do it would be for us to supply only tyres of the new design on and after a certain date? It would, of course, be most unfortunate if a chassis got fitted with some tyres of the new design and some of the old, as the difference would be easily noticeable, owing to the fact of the difference in the buttresses and shoulder of the tyre. If there is any way we can assist you to overcome this difficulty, we should, of course, be only too pleased to do so.

I have passed on to Messrs. Park, Ward, as promised, the points you mentioned to me with regard to Mr. Thompson's Bentley, and they have promised to deal with them as soon as the car is in their possession.

With regard to Mr. Thorne's Rolls-Royce: I understand that this is still at Messrs. Park, Ward's; and it is quite possible on further examination the situation may not be as serious/
