Dear Sirs,

Goshawk II - Laminated Road Springs.

We have much pleasure in informing you that we have today forwarded you 6 top leaves for the front and rear springs in our Chrome Vanadium Steel.

We should like to say, however, that these being the first ones we have manufactured are not quite up to our standard. We naturally have come across one or two difficulties which will be rectified in any further leaves or springs we deliver.

We are forwarding them as we know how urgently you require delivery, and we trust they will set you at liberty and that they will be sufficiently accurate for you to thoroughly test.

We should naturally like these to be tested as quickly as possible and to have your full criticism so that if necessary we may modify where possible the further springs and leaves which are now going through our shops.

Yours faithfully,
THOS. FIRTH & SONS LIMITED.

[Handwritten note]
We are instructing stores to send these leaves to test bed immediately they arrive.
