EAC.8. VACUUM TANK.

We send herewith N. sch: 2108. [Handwritten 'X7510' and crossed out 'X7500' next to 2108] shewing the vacuum tank suitable for the new dashboard. It will be noticed that it no longer goes through the dashboard, and so a certain amount of body trouble is eliminated.

The capacity as drawn is slightly less than before as R.{Sir Henry Royce} considers that we shall shortly be making use of a vacuum pump in place of the induction pipe suction. The first cars can however be run without this pump if necessary.

R.{Sir Henry Royce} wishes to use a cork faced tap in place of the present needle valve, and we have taken our particulars off Benton & Stone's catalogue - tap No.3069., being the particular one of which we have had a sample. We should like you to see whether Benton & Stone would make us a tap as we have designed it, making use of the rotor of 3069. We have added a drain plug and sediment collecting sump as we believe there is a certain demand for this, and it will be noticed that the petrol can now be turned off from the rear of the dash.
