Receipt of your letter dated 24th June reference EY13/P24618. together with enclosure LeC. 954 is acknowledged with thanks. The matter has been discussed with the firm selected to embody the gear, and they state it would be impossible to consider the design for their manufacture, and in view of the difficulties in manufacture, and the necessity of great accuracy, on this design. The Lucas gear having already adopted and contracts placed a good deal of preparation had been made for production and consequently the introduction of a change of design at this stage would incur delay.
