E.3/HP.17.12.36. 4 Port Induction Pipe - Phantom III. As a result of Fm/B1.16/AP.16.12.36, it is evident that we shall have to retain the double water feed to the induction pipe jacket. I still feel that this could be done with one pipe if we started de novo with a larger pipe and carefully designed the jacket to suit, but this is out of the question now. We are, therefore, issuing LeC.5420 showing the double water feed arranged for an aluminium jacketed induction pipe centre piece and deleting the boss originally arranged for the automatic type carburetter. In the meantime I think we ought to arrange to have some cylinder heads made with the exhaust feed passages still left in before the patterns are altered, to enable us to try the exhaust heated induction pipe at some future date. LeC.5420 shows the exhaust passages in the cylinder heads deleted. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Sewell Please arrange Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
