Description of Parts: PALMETTO WATER PUMP GLAND PACKING. 1/4" square type was used.
Origin: To reduce complaints of water leaks from the water pump gland.
Report of Experimental Test.
Fitted to 6.B.IV water pump gland and ran 15,000 miles in France without any attention. There was no sign of water leaks.
The condition of the packing and rotor shaft was good after the test. It has been used by Bentleys for a number of years with every satisfaction. No moulds are needed to form the packing. A piece 2.6" long is cut off and placed in the gland and screwed up.
