(4) Chevrolet oil consumption ?

After the car had run 5,000 miles the consumption was 3,600 m.p.g. at 41 m.p.h. At 12,000 miles a consumption was taken at an average speed of 45 m.p.h. on Castrol XL, a figure of 1440 m.p.g. being obtained and compares with 960 m.p.g. on Mobiloil Arctic under similar conditions.

(5) Oil consumption at various throttle opening ?

We have no reliable consumption figures to quote but will include this on our programme for B.II No.4.

"Blow by" figures have been taken at 4000 r.p.m., however, and are as follows.

Full throttle - 1.5 cu.ft./min.
3/4 load - 1.5 " "
1/2 " - 1.8 " "
1/4 " - 2.2 " "

(6) Position of chrome plating tackle ?

Drawings are now complete and have been instructed to Millwrights.
