To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X216 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.21/KW.11.6.34. Bentley 4-Bearing Crankcase. Will you please arrange to have one of these cast in magnesium to take the 4-bearing crankshaft, and stiffened up as indicated in plasticine on the accompanying crankcase. The following points should be given attention :- (1) Round off corners where the flanges on the webs of the old 2nd, 4th and 6th bearings run into the crankcase walls. (2) Modify the gallery pipe to give the smallest possible holes in the webs. (3) Modify the external oil feed to the gallery pipe so as to avoid the outside rib. (4) Incorporate the bracket for the Graham supercharger. (5) The centre panel of the rear wall is thickened by 1/8". Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
