X.2512 - CONDENSER FOR BATTERY IGNITION

As requested, we are sending to you a condenser complete with clamping plates but not fixed in case. This condenser has stood our production tests, one of which consists in the application of an alternating voltage of 400 (R.M.S. value) for a period of 10 minutes, the peak voltage under these circumstances being about 565. The capacity of this condenser is .215 m.f. our limits for production are .19 to .23 m.f.

We made the production tests of condensers fairly stringent from the start, and although this resulted in a considerable amount of scrap in the early stages, we think this has been quite worth while, as the percentage of scrap has gradually been, and is still being reduced, until at the present time it is quite reasonable. Also this results in the fact that now we turn out condensers which appear to be more satisfactory on test than certain sample condensers we have had made for us by an outside firm.
