1129 To By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}15/JH.7.2.39. Single Cylinder Bentley Unit. Cylinder heads. Some confusion seems to have arisen in the shop with regard to the two heads EB.343 and EXc.1060. It would appear that both heads were instructed to incorporate a 1.600" diam. m'ld valve, and later an instruction was issued altering the heads to take 1.750" diam. valves. This modification however was not applied to the EXc. 1060 head which has now progressed too far, to make any alterations in the structure of the head. Will you please therefore scheme out and instruct the following as soon as possible - (1) 1.600" diam. inlet valve to be suitable for either head. (2) 1.600 diam. valve seat for EX.29075 head.
