Dear Sirs, REFERENCE: Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/HT. In reply to your letter of the 20th, reference as above, with regard to the 36 D.U.P. carburetter, it is quite true that there should only be one starting jet and one starting valve. The valve and jet should both be on the same side of the carburetter, and supply extra petrol to both of the slow running jets. In the same way there is only one air adjustment on the slow running jet, and this is by means of the knurled screw situated between the throttle barrels on the back side of the carburetter. This regulates the air supply to both slow running jets. You will find that there are 2 slow running jets, one for each barrel.
