HOTEL & CAFÉ DE FRANCE CHATEAUROUX Téléphone 21 Le March 13. 1933. To H.S. I arrived safely with "Spares" late Saturday night. We have checked piston bedding & ring clearances in new cylinder block. This block is not the same as the one off 1.B.III being a standard 25 H.P. having the induction passage from the carburetter through the block centre. There are 2 water jacket side plates compared with 6 on 1.B.III. This will necessitate a new pipe from the water pump to the cylinder block as the distance between the studs is different. I have telephoned Paris to send one down immediately. We have had to file quite an amount out of the holes in the cylinder base to allow the tappets to go through, this has up to the present time been our greatest difficulty necessitating lifting the block on & off numerous times. We are hoping to get some light running out of the engine tomorrow providing Paris sends us the water pipe. R Pattinson. | ||
