X6117 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.8/MA. 19th October, 1934. British Insulated Cables Ltd., Helsby, Nr. WARRINGTON. For the attention of Mr. Bayles. Dear Sir, We are anxious to continue tests with H.T. chassis ignition cable covered with a varnished cotton braiding. Our previous tests have not been entirely successful with grades submitted by other manufacturers. We are arranging to ask you to supply us with a small quantity say 150 ft. of 7 mm H.T. cable braided with cotton and varnished. The external diameter should not exceed 7 mm and the dielectric should be of the same quality as supplied on aero cable to specification D.T.D.172A. The varnished cotton braiding should be of the same quality and finish as that called for on airplane cables as per A.M. provisional specification dated July 1932, unless you have something superior in your judgement. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
