X.4081. Extract from R7/M30.12.21. RE VISIT OF MESSRS HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} & HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} TO WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town ON WEDNESDAY, 21st. DECEMBER 1921. GOSHAWK II (7) DETACHING THE SWITCHBOX+ X.4081. It has been decided that the switchbox and inter- mediate cables shall be detached from the distribution board. As pointed out this involves some system of marking the conductors to to identify them and their respective terminals. Another way has occurred to me of dealing with this question of marking. The idea is that after the chassis has been tested, the terminals and the ends of the conductors should be painted different colours before the conductors are detached. This should be a sure way of avoiding a mistake as the smallest piece of paint remaining on any of the fittings will serve to correctly identify it. I also think that a further distinction might be made by having two sizes of terminals since we shall have conductors carrying light and heavy currents. | ||
