With reference to the new setting of the hydraulic shock absorber necessitated by the deletion of the dynamic restrictions. We attach curve showing the way we should like you to obtain loads on production shock absorbers. The only piece modified of the existing parts are the valve caps. These can now be the same on the high pressure and low pressure side. The dimensions we give for the valve caps allow the pressures to be raised or lowered considerably from the original setting by means of the adjusting washers. This will enable the setting to be varied to suit customers' requirements without the necessity for changing the valve caps. We find the greatest variations in limits on the production parts which we have so far checked appears to be the free length of the springs. It would improve matters considerably if these could be ground to size in the works, if the makers are unable to work to our drawing.figure.
