X.20 30.5.19. RECORD OF TYRE MILEAGE OF Mr. Victor Harrison's Car - 2608. The above car is fitted with Cantilever springs and Central type Foot Brake. The car has Warland detachable rims. The first set of rear Dunlop tyres 895 x 135 shewed signs of giving-out after 3000 miles. Two more Dunlop tyres 895 x 150 were put on the back, these ran for over 7500 miles during the hottest time of the year and very fast driving. One Continental tyre on the rear ran 7500 miles, had it retreated, ran a further 3500 miles and it retreatded again and it ran a further 3500 miles. This tyre still has "life" in it but Mr. Harrison was ashamed to use it because of its German origin. On the front wheels a Wood-Milne tyre was run for over 8000 miles when a horse shoe settled it. A Dunlop studded tyre 895 x 150 and a Firestone non-skid have run for 9500 miles and appear to be good for another 1000 miles. The tyre pressure was +- 70 lbs. per. sq. in.
