Phantom III Chassis. We attach herewith a list of the design work completed on the Phantom III chassis during the last month and in addition particulars of design work in hand. Clutch. The design of the revised clutch which embodies improvements found desirable as the result of experience on the existing clutch, and also cheapening features has been completed. The designs for the clutch casing and for the operating mechanism will be issued during the next two or three days. Deletion of Hydraulic Tappets. All design work is completely instructed for this. 4 Port Cylinder Head. One or two small schemes necessary to complete this modification have been dealt with and instructed. General Cost Reduction. Several designs have been completed to reduce the cost of various parts, e.g. commonising of valve springs and fittings, commonising of propellor shaft and joints on all cars, cheapened engine oil level indicator, several cheapening features on the gearbox.
