F.{Mr Friese} Blackith, Esq.,
Wellworthy Piston Rings Limited,
LYMINGTON,
Hants:

Dear Mr. Blackith,

Many thanks for your letter of the 24th August re Dennis Bros.

We consider that we should not let these people try another bearing until our own tests show that it is an improvement over the one that has failed. We do not think that the A.C.6 bearing is an improvement on the A.C.9, and, therefore, they should be discouraged from running another test on A.C.6.

It may be that in this particular case we shall have to induce the manufacturers to incorporate reasonable modifications in their engine to give the bearing a chance.

We have written to Dennis Bros. for particulars of their crankshaft, etc.

Obviously, it would be stupid to develop a bearing to cope with Dennis' if our standard product is capable of dealing with 200 h.p. on the E.R.A. Nevertheless, we regard the Dennis job as a very excellent test case to help us to improve our product.

Yours sincerely,

x per litre
