Modification for reducing front braking on 40/50 HP cars.

(X8420) I believe we told you when you were over here that a standardisation sheet had been completed for reducing the front braking on 40/50 HP. cars. This modification was actually introduced owing to the steering taking charge on several cars. It consists of replacing the 3" levers on the front brake equalising shaft with 4" levers. We have asked hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} to supply you with some of the new parts so that you may fit them to cars which have had accidents and remove all possibility of probable recurrence. We can only think that the un-metalled roads of Australia cause dust to enter the front brake drums which cause fierce front braking.
