re B-4-LS.

Replying to your Memo. ref: Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}4/KW.20.9.40. this car was fitted with Rolls Royce aluminium tin bearings throughout.

This bearing material has been marketed by Wellworthy's.

Since Motor Sport are interested in bearings, I send you a photograph of a set of big ends in this same material, which we just removed from 30.G.VII, after 48,000 miles, 23,000 miles of which were run at maximum speeds on the Continent. By-pass filtration was used.

This is the best set of bearings we have ever seen at the mileage.

If you send the photograph to the paper you will have to cut off two of the bearings, otherwise you will publish the fact that we have been running an 8-cylinder engine.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

Photograph to follow.
