Honeyman - Retail orders} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA.1.3.33. WINDSCREEN WIPERS. We are carrying out tests with windscreen wipers made by Messrs. Lucas and Messrs. Klaxon in order to obtain comparisons with regard to:- (a) Torque. (b) Current consumption. (c) Heating. (d) Noise. We have usually only allowed for a current of one ampere for a single wiper and two for a dual type in our dynamo output considerations but we were astonished to find that the Klaxon dual wiper takes 5 to 6 amperes under load and 7 to 8 amperes partially stalled. We intend to discuss this matter with the Klaxon technical representatives as we consider these currents to be excessive. As soon as our comparative tests are complete we will arrange to issue a report. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
