-> Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..copy to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X8380 C4/C2.1.25. Supplementary Frame. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG1.1.25. ------- We were hoping to arrange so that we could fit this supplementary fram on to a chassis, as this would help us so very much in camouflaging the Coachbuilders, and we think we could do it in a way that will not interfere with your other plans. The suggestion that Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and I have discussed is set out in the attached copy memo. to CJ. We have not yet had a decision on this, but I hope you will agree that this will not cause you any inconvenience, and it would help us in every way. We are afraid that if we just send them along a scrap frame for them to put the sub-frame on to and build the wings, it will cause a lot of talk, and apart from this it will not help them to make a decent job. Furthermore it would prevent our trying this cellulose process. As regards the delay, with this latter the contrary will be the case, as the whole job can be done in a couple of days, whereas the Coachbuilders would take a good deal longer than this in filling in and rubbing down, even if they finish it roughly in the "grey". Are you sending us the sub-frame at once? It does not seem that Hoopers will have the body ready under four weeks. Would this suit your plans? C. | ||
