Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 10th instant referring to your experiments in connection with Short Cylinder Inserts, pointing out that for comparative purposes you wish to try similar inserts to our drawing No.CI.12 but made in your own material.

We shall be very pleased to be of service to you in connection with this proposition, but before we can estimate the price, we should be pleased to know as to the type of material which you propose to send us. It is largely a question of machineability.

Incidentally, Mr. McCarthy will be calling to see you on Wednesday, so that you may prefer to discuss this matter with him.
