FROM HDY.{William Hardy} ORIGINAL RECEIVED C. to Sub-Dept. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} P. SHOCK DAMPERS. The recent increase of width of inner lever (N. sch. 3662) reduced the length of the outer bearing, and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has now instructed a modified arrangement of spring gland as shewn by N. sch. 3663 herewith, to regain some bearing length. This drawing cancels N. sch. 3660. We have simplified the shape of the lever, avoiding the spot facing. We suggest that the radii in the corners of the square be obtained by drilling holes in order to avoid putting radii on the corners of the broach. A new casting is of course required for the damper body. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
