contd :- -4- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Eal/LGS.1124. The method of supporting the cradle and locating the cyl. heads on it is not apparent with the water jackets in position. The total weight of the cyl. block complete with valves and springs is only 54 lbs. The pinion for the Camshaft Drive is carried in a split P.E. bush mounted in a split aluminium shell. The shell is a close fit in the cradle and is secured by a screwed collar. Two dogs transmit the drive from the vertical shaft. The thrust is taken by the ends of the P.B. bush.
