Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} E2/M22. 5. 22. GOSHAWK 11. CARBURETTER CONTROLS. X.4228. X.4239. We send you herewith drawing No.LeC.1583 shewing the hand control opening the throttle a still smaller amount than last arranged, in accordance with Mr. Royce's wishes. This drawing also shews the jet control link altered to make the low speed jet adjustment clamping screw more accessible. Mr. Royce has cancelled the idea of using the spring on the throttle lever for the present, the object of which was to do away with all slacks between the control and the butterfly throttle as he thinks that alteration to the hand control ratio may cure all your complaints in respect of this point, and he wishes as far as possible to avoid modification of the scheme we have now.
