Dynamo brush chattering caused by incorrectly oriented brush springs.

We have discovered that brush chattering with consequent commutator sparking is caused at the negative brush on our dynamos due to the brush spring being the wrong way, i.e. pushing against the direction of rotation instead of trailing.
