-3- The distance traveled was 8,270 miles. The car was washed once on the trip and today looks just the same as when it left, with the exception that in going through the desert, the tremendous heat blistered the varnish on the running boards and on the rails on the top side of the body, although it did not affect the duco at all. As you will remember, when I took delivery of this car, I called your Mechanical Department's attention to the fact that I thought the motor was exceedingly rough. Your Mr. Hulley and I spent a few days on this and we both decided that nothing could be done about it. At the present writing, the motor has smoothed out and has no period of vibration or any spots in it at all, so evidently what was needed was a good pasting. OY. | ||
