To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from BJ. BJ25/E30/11/26 - 2 - order a quantity and to advise our clients to buy them, and it is in our interests to adopt them if they are all right. I understand from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M12/11/26 that EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} was of the opinion that these bodies can only be satisfactory if we use a sub-frame, so that, if his view was correct, we should have to perfect the sub-frame before we can standardise Barkerlites. I am not sure whether you are thinking of ordering one of these bodies for your own use or whether you wish us to test the general design &c. first. We feel that at present we should ask Barkers to let us satisfy ourselves by a reasonable test as to whether the body is or is not likely to be practicable before we buy one. In other words, if the experimental body falls to pieces, Barkers should be the losers and not RR-Ld. BJ. | ||
