type damper has required no attention and has maintained its poundage. The brakes have been free from thumps and rattles on application or release. An occasional slight servo judder on sudden application developed towards the end of the mileage.

FRAME & FITTINGS LOP F.61086.
Complete to above LOP incorporating:-
NS.{Norman Scott}4469 Hypoid Rear Axle. F.60899 3rd Cross Member.
LEC 4809-4817 Single Pipe Line Warning Light.
Device & Filter on 2nd Cross member.
F.61070 2nd cross member. F.61068/9 Frame Drilling.
NS.{Norman Scott}3339-3207 J III Rear Anchorages for Front Springs.
F.58323 Anchor Brackets.- Mod. to Ex.2EI 65/6
F.58317 Shackle Pins. F.58334 Stiffening Plate.
F.58235-4I Shackle Cover.

The top of the slot in the 3rd cross member was frequently hit by the propellor shaft on full spring deflection. The rear buffer clearance was reduced 1/2" but the shaft still touches.

It was found that the outlet from the petrol filter just fouled the brake gear on the rear axle on full bump. The filter was moved 1" towards the centre of the frame in which position it is quite clear.

The results show that frame ties cannot be dispensed with. The coachwork has shown signs of sagging, causing the doors to stick badly, and there is a constant tendency towards movement at the scuttle and front door pillars. There is excessive radiator movement on bad roads.

The N.S. spare wheel & bracket vibrate sideways and this is unsightly from inside the car. It is due to flexing of the frame at the point of attachment. The movement of the O.S. spare wheel is not so noticeable, as the steering box has a stiffening effect on the frame.

The rear spring anchorages of front springs have shown no weaknesses.

PETROL TANK. LOP. F.61082 LEC 4817.
Complete to above LOP incorporating:-
LMC 4463 Anti Surge Baffle for Petrol Gauge Float.
F.60833 Petrol Tank Body.
Electrical Gauge with Warning Light Contacts.
F.61067 Tank Unit.

The petrol tank body has given no trouble, but we are experiencing slight petrol leaks from the petrol gauge tank unit joints when the tank is full. The electrical gauge unit becomes completely full of petrol, & the petrol leaks from the top & bottom joints. Although these leaks are only small, sufficient petrol had accumulated on the insulation of the wires leading to this unit to destroy the rubber covering & cause a short
