2006 1159. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} HL/EA.1/JN.14.2.38. LABORATORY Re. SAMPLE ALVIS HUB CAP DER PLATED BY ALFORD AND ALLIOTT. The deposits present on the above cap were found to be as follows :- Base material - Steel. Thickness. ↓ Nickel "Flash" to 0.00025" ↓ Copper 0.0006" to 0.00125" ↓ Nickel 0.00025" to 0.00125" ↓ Chromium Not measured. The resistance of the deposit to sea-spray was good. The polish we consider to be as good as that obtained on our external plated steel work at present. HL/E.A. Cap returned herewith. | ||
