At present it seems that we have nothing to
choose, and that we must make 'India' like 'EAC'
steering column - i.e. self supporting from the dash,
and arrange for instrument board to be carried by the
scuttles, providing temporary support for the board,
until the chassis gets to the coachbuilders. These
temporary supports should indicate the best position
for the boards. Preferably I should like this same
piece of wood to be the final instrument board, except
in special cases where the colour is wrong. What
wood would be most generally acceptable, and what size
could be found? I suggest American mahogany, because
it is light, and keeps its shape.
