SYNCHRO-START
THE EFFICIENT AUTOMATIC STARTER

The following description should be disassociated from any previous experience with such a device. Heretofore, such equipment has been subjected to, and has reacted upon, the irregular conditions arising in the generator.

SYNCHRO-START is not governed by the generator and has no influence whatever upon the normal functions of any of the electrical equipment except the coil. By no stretch of the imagination can this influence be anything but favorable, as will be described herein.

SYNCHRO-START not only closes the starter circuit as soon as the ignition key is turned but keeps the engine running, literally without a possible stall, because it will actuate the starter when engine speed falls below a certain figure. It does NOT necessitate an entirely stopped engine before it will function.

SYNCHRO-START actually improves ignition to an extent which can be demonstrated by dynamometer tests resulting in one percent higher torque output and six percent petrol saving.

Control can be arranged either through the ignition switch, the accelerator pedal or by a selective switch on the dash.

The primary control of SYNCHRO-START is the speed of operation of the make and break contacts points on the timing, hence it operates with the precision of the camshaft.

SYNCHRO-START is arranged to cut in on a threatened engine stall at a speed which will ensure that the tooth speed on starter pinion and flywheel gear is synchronized.

The engine is re-started before it has stopped turning, hence intake and carburetion conditions are favorable for immediate acceleration.

This live starting also ensures some economy in petrol, a saving in the current demands on the battery and a reduction of wear on starter pinion and ring gear.

The starter switch itself is of ample proportions, is subjected to heavy contact pressure and is always clean.
