Typed Text: X4617E. By Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} /MdM/T3.9.29. RE BATTERIES. We send you herewith samples of Battery Terminals from Exide cells. No.1 is as fitted on original type batteries. It will be noted that the terminal stud is moulded in the lug about 1" and includes part of the threaded portion. It also has 2 pins. No.2 is of the later type and only retained in lug about 3/8" and by one pin, if a pin at all. We find the No.2. type frequently pull out as has done [redacted] the sample sent you.
