X1027 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/C14/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 3. 7. 23. 40/50. Hp. CHASSIS TOOL KIT. -------------------------- In reply to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn3/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 13. 6. 23. it is considered that the Lucas No.40. Oiler adequately replaces the Oil Syringe as in both cases the oil is forced out, consequently do not think it would be of any use to supply oil syringes to those customers who have been provided with the Lucas type Oiler. We agree that there may be a difficulty in being able to lubricate the Universal Joint with either the Oil Syringe or Lucas Oiler, but since Chassis 16-YG. was supplied, we have standardized an Enots Lubricator for this position, therefore it would be advisable to send out Enots fittings to those cars to which they have not been fitted, and on which an oil pipe and connection has been made from the sphere to the chassis frame. In regard to the Engine Coupling, a very small amount of oil is required at this point, and we consider that there is no need to provide an Enots fitting for same as it is quite accessible with the Lucas No.40. Oiler. The remainder of the parts of the chassis on which we have maintained the ordinary oil cup or grease cup as on the Governor and Water Pump, we wish to point out that these are not suitable for lubrication by the Enots system, and the present fittings are correct.
