Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 23rd December 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby. Dear Sirs: Referring to your letter of the 17th inst., regarding Thermometer and Oil Gauge No.703. We found that the hair-spring on the oil gauge section was broken near its point of attachment. This may have been that a very sharp bend was introduced in starting the first coil. We have told our operators to form the hairspring with an easier bend at this point, and we have no doubt that this modification will prevent future faults of the same nature. Assuring you of our best attention. Yours faithfully FOR S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. P.O. Dour ENGINEER. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
