(3) Manufacturing Faults.

These mainly consist of:-

(a) Bad finger setting.

(b) Driven plates irregular in thickness.

(c) Outer diameter of cover not true to size.

(d) Bad finish.

(e) Pressure plate not flat.

These points are being attended to by B. & B.

Clutch for next 10,000 Miles Bentley.

(1) Ventilated clutch type 10.A.S. with extra bearing area round the slots.

(2) Cross cushion plate with .045 cushioning, faced with moulded material. By using N.Sch.4776 pedals there will be sufficient separation to accommodate this, since the ventilated casing has less spring than the present ones.

(3) Pedals N.Sch.4776 - cantilever with good geometry. Since heavy pedal load is not a prevalent complaint at the moment on Bentley, we do not propose to increase the travel.

(4) Ventilated clutch casing to Ex.25741, incorporating anti-whistle design recommended by B. & B. If the simple design on S.D.lv. does not whistle we shall use this.
