X3468 Mr. Hives from GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/LG19.4.23. 6.EX CAR - UNDERSHIELD. X.3468 We do not approve that the undershield fitted to 6.EX car is better than standard. The pocket fitted on to clear dynamo wires makes it almost impossible to erect or take down shield. This pocket, when in position, fits in between the under channel and the tie rod. To get the shield down, considerable force is required to spring this pocket past the tie rod; in most cases the result is, the pocket is flattened inwards and damaged, making the shield worse than it was before the alteration. We propose that the portion under the dynamo could be made separate and could be so made that the dynamo could easily be taken out without disturbing the rest of the undershield, or the undershield could be taken down without moving the shield for the dynamo. The attached sketch shows the idea. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
